Fix Messy QuickBooks Books Two names for one idea

Meals this year, meals last year, owner meals, and lunch all hold the same kind of line. Reports then split one story across four rows, and nobody can see the month.

We pick the name that already has the history and move the strays into it. The extra names are then closed so a later import cannot revive them. A note says why, so the next person does not open a fifth name.

A chart with a new account every week is a new exit to the same place. Meals, owner meals, and lunch are one idea with three doors. We close the extra exits and keep the name that already has the history.

A loan, a card, and a bank account are not twins just because the names look alike. Those stay separate, and each one needs its own statement. Merging them would hide a balance.

A class or a location can carry the detail a second account was trying to carry. We use that when it keeps the chart short. We do not invent a tracking layer you will never open.

The review list posts into whatever name is handy. That is why the chart and the feed are one conversation. See lines still in review if the guesses are landing in the twin.

After the twins are gone, a stranger should be able to find meals, the owner, and the bank without a tour. If the chart still needs a guide, it is not finished.

Closing a twin does not throw its history away. The lines move into the name we keep, and the closed name stays closed so a later import cannot wake it up. The closed name remains on the list as closed, so the next person does not have to remember why it went.
